Really, Hudson deserves kudos for such great production values. Now, Jill confronts her greatest challenge yet - planning her dream wedding in Cake Mania 3, the highly anticipated follow-up to one of the most popular casual games. The hand-drawn sprites are very well done, as is the animation. Over the past few years, we’ve watched Jill Evans grow from a fresh-out-of-baking-school student to a world-class culinary celeb. The time travel gimmick is silly, but it does lead to some great backgrounds and customers. These let you set down a work in progress or a mistake order in hopes that a later customer orders it. Do yourself a favor and buy cake stands early. But there are things you can add to sweeten the attitudes of your customers like a television (uh, Butterfly Effect anyone?) or a candy machine to make their waits easier, thus increasing tips.

Just let me quickly stack my moves and get into a groove! With your cash, you must constantly upgrade your kitchen. But when the shop is a madhouse of customers with different needs and you must think about three-layer cakes and beverages, these extra steps are a nuisance. I suppose asking for double taps like this could prevent you from making accidental moves. Then you must touch it again to actually pick up the cake. When a cake is done, you touch the froster once to get Jill to zero in on it. You have to touch things multiple times to perform actions.
However, Cake Mania 3 has some unnecessarily complicated controls that make the game harder than it needs to be. Then there's drinks like coffee or tea that must be served as well. It isn't long before witches and Parisians want complicated, multi-tiered cakes with different toppers and multiple frosting options. Once the cake is done, it must be frosted. Then it's off to the oven to select the correct cake shape. Cake Mania 3 is different from its predecessors in many ways, but the changes are all for the better and make it a fun, interesting, and often zany experience. When a customer saddles up to Jill's counter, she must give them a menu and let them pick a cake. Make a drastic mistake and the whole thing comes crashing down on top of you. The deeper into the game you get, the faster you must deal with mounting demands. You must juggle multiple activities as long as you can. If you've played Cake Mania, Diner Dash, Chocolate Shop Frenzy, or any of the "spinning plate" casual games, you know the drill.
